I do Like the Toolbar(tm) I use it myself al the time.
It was never my intention to compete with the GoogleToolbar(tm). The reason I build this searchtool was because I did not like it at all that I could only use it with Iexplorer v5 or higher. If you combine this SearchTool with the GoogleToolbar(tm) you will never miss a search result

When you do your first search action, the searchtool will send a update request to the frysianfools.com server. When an update is ready for release it wil let you know.
The same goes for the counter.
NOTE: The searchtool will not send anything else but your hits! Your own hits can be viewed in the GGSearch aboutbox.

If you dont like this you can disable both options in the menu. If your firewall tells you about a frysianfools.com cookie then say to your firewall to trust it or disable both options (My searchtool uses a simple http protocol directing to an ASP webpage that handles the hits).
THE TOOL DOES NOT SEND ANY QUERY OR USER INFORMATION TO THIS SERVER. But I love to know how many hits you all made together with my searchtool :-)

The searchtool uses the Default browser from windows. Some aggressive browsers just don't give up their place. That's why I created the: "enable custom browser" option (v1.5.5). Enable this option , browse to your fav. browser and use it. It is as simple as that!
Note: Avant AND Slim - browser users should use as name: "Avant" (without the quotes) to let the tool work...

Can't save the options:
Ask you adminstrator to give you the right to write to:

Due to security reasons the Windows registry could be locked. If your Administrator doesn't want to or can't do his job try to download the Google©SearchTool v2

Can't find my default browser:
The searchTool reads a line in the registry for finding the browser. Due to security reasons this key could be locked.
Try the option: "enable custom browser". Enable this option , browse to your fav. browser and use it. It is as simple as that!

Conflict with my firewall:
If you use the option "auto check for update" the searchTool asks* some info from the ggsearch server. Some firewalls go "nuts" and block this. This doesn't do any harm. Solution: Or you say to your firewall to trust the SearchTool or disable the option. *The SearchTool requests only the information on the first search..

Firewall/Proxy keeps on nagging me with the browser window..
Try the option: "open in one browserwindow".

Open in one browserwindow does not work
Try in explorer: extra > Options > Advanced tab,
there is a option called:
"Reuse Windows for launching shortcuts". If this
option isn't checked the tool won't work with that option.

Tool is slowing down my machine
If your machine is running Windows 2000 orXP on less than 90 mhz we recommend to not to use the transparent option.

I use Browser Y and now browser X popups everytime...
